I spoke to someone who owns a fleet of 50 odd cars, 39 of which are ford and most of these are mk4 mondeos. He said that i cant afford to drive with no MAF as the DPF wont regen and said if the MAF is not the issue he was 90% sure it would be the EGR. Interesting note about the DPF, I've noticed the PCM does an active regen every 500 miles but I don't tend to consider doing a "manual" regen as all my trips are on the open road so I'm doing decent speeds for at least half an hour at a time, also I regularly Checked the hoses which connect DPF to pressure sensor. Then seem to be ok. I wonder if I should replace the pressure sensor, but I'm not convinced since the DP_DPF pid shows 1kPa on idle and up tp 10-12 under load.
